
Midget LL Huskies End 2010 on a High
The Durham Midget LL Huskies recently played their last seven games of the year 2010 and they did very well.
First the Huskies faced the Bruce Peninsula Wild, at home, on Nov. 22 and they defeated the Wild 4-0. Goal scorers were Kyle Schieven, Justin Hooper, Cole Mackey, and Brandon Stevens, with assists going to Stevens, Mackey and Hooper.
Next the Huskies went up against the Hanover Falcons, at home, on Nov. 29. The Huskies managed to defeat the Falcons a close 3-2, with goals for the Huskies going to Schieven (2) and Cole Hollands and assists by Derek Kaufman, Joel Thompson, Hollands and Hayden Sharpe.
Then on Dec. 5 the Huskies travelled to Tiverton to play the Tiverton Thunder. The Huskies tried their best, but were defeated 4-2 in the end. Goals for the Huskies were scored by Hollands and Tyler MacDonald, with assists by Travis Marshall, Hooper and Billy Dilworth.
The Huskies then travelled to Mount Forest on Dec. 10 to face the Rams. After a great game, the Huskies managed a 7-3 win over the Rams! Goal scorers for the Huskies were MacDonald, Mackey, Hooper (2), Andrew Callahan, Chris Giles and Marshall, with assists going to Marshall, Ben Dow, Kaufman, Callahan, Stevens and MacDonald.
After this the Huskies had a home game against the Mildmay Monarchs, on Dec. 17. Unfortunately the Huskies were defeated 5-0 by the Monarchs.
The Huskies would make up for this loss in their next home game, on Dec. 20, against the Chatsworth Rebels. The Huskies played their hardest to defeat the Rebels 9-5. Goals for the Huskies went to Hollands (2), Mackey, Johannes Fredrickson (3), Marshall and Stevens (2), with assists by Kaufman, Stevens, Marshall (3), Fredrickson, Mackey (2), Schieven, Jesse Genereux and Callahan.
Lastly the Huskies travelled to Lion’s Head to meet with the Bruce Peninsula Wild once again, on Dec. 22. With this being the last regular season game of the year 2010, the Huskies ended on a high, defeating the Wild 7-1. Fredrickson, Schieven, Callahan, Hollands, Marshall, Sharpe, and Thompson scored the goals, while MacDonald (2), Stevens, Thompson, Callahan, Marshall (2), Kaufman, Fredrickson and Mackey got the assists. The goalies Spencer Bristow and Lane Aulthouse have been awesome in net for the first half of this season. Fantastic job Huskies!
