Atom Reps Had A Super Sunday With Two Wins
Submitted By Karen Aljoe on Thursday, February 24, 2011
The Huskies continued their W.O.A.A. round robin play in Walkerton on Sunday morning.  In the beginning our team looked like they weren't up for the challenge against the strong Capitals team.  Walkerton scored two goals in the first and one near the end of the second to lead 3-0.  That was the end of the scoring for the Capitals and the Huskies were back in the game at 2:07 in the second.  Christopher Graham and Kelsey Mighton helped Mark Aljoe net the Huskies' first goal.

At 13:35 in the third Alex Paylor notched one for his team with assists awarded to Cole Spielmacher and Mighton.  With three minutes left Brayden Kaufman tied the game 3-3, assisted by Jordan MacDonald and Paylor.  With the momentum high, the game headed into a ten minute overtime period.  At 7:21 Aljoe scored the winner and the Huskies took home the 4-3 win.
Wow!  What a great comeback team!

After an afternoon break the Huskies headed to Monkton to face the Mitchell Meteors.  This game wasn't quite as intense as the Walkerton match but the team managed a 6-4 win.  Goals were scored by Aljoe (3), MacDonald, Paylor and Tyson Hutcheson.  Helpers went to MacDonald (3), Spielmacher (2), Paylor, Hutcheson, Mighton and Aljoe.

The Huskies are on the road again for a 6:00 start in Mildmay on Thursday, looking to continue their winning streak.  On Saturday they will host Blyth at 12:15 and Sunday at 11:30 Seaforth will visit.

Keep up the great work team!
