Midget LL Huskies Finish Up Regular Season Games
In the past two weeks the McLean’s Home Hardware Midget LL Huskies played their last four regular season games, winning two, tying one and losing one.
First the Huskies travelled to Chatsworth to face the Rebels, on Jan. 19.
The Huskies started off the scoring in the first period when Seth DeBoer scored, unassisted. Then in the second period Nathan Thompson scored another for the Huskies, unassisted, to give the Huskies a 2-0 lead. In the third period, the Rebels got one goal and things got a little crazy. Players were injured and the game ended early due to curfew, with the Huskies winning the game 2-1.
Next the Huskies travelled to Walkerton to play the Walkerton Capitals 2, on Jan. 31. The Huskies were defeated a very close 4-3 in the end, but it was still a well played game. Goals for the Huskies were scored by Justin Hooper, Travis Marshall and Joel Thompson, with assists by DeBoer, Thompson, Hooper and Kyle Schieven.
Then the Huskies went up against the Walkerton Capitals 1, at home, on Feb. 1. Even though the Capitals began the scoring, the Huskies kept up and the game ended in a 2-2 tie, with goals for the Huskies going to Hunter Burgess and Luke Ronka and one assist by DeBoer.
Finally the Huskies travelled to Walkerton to once again face the Walkerton Capitals 1, on Feb. 4, and played a very good game for their last regular season game.
In the first period, the Huskies scored two goals, one by Hooper, assisted by Marshall and one by Chris Giles, unassisted. Then the Capitals got one, to make the score 2-1.
In the second period, Cole Hollands scored another for the Huskies, assisted by Jason Paylor, giving the Huskies a 3-1 lead.
Then in the third period, the Capitals scored one more, followed by another for the Huskies scored by Johannes Fredrickson and assisted by Burgess and Schieven, to give the Huskies the 4-2 win over the Capitals. Good luck in the playoffs Huskies!
