Midget LL Huskies Have a Harsh Week
This past week has been a harsh one for the Midget LL Huskies, to say the least. The team has been hit with illnesses, injuries, and suspensions, leading to some tough match-ups. The Huskies played three games, losing two and winning one.
First, they faced the Walkerton Capitals, at home, on Jan. 27, and were defeated 9-5. Goals were scored by Luke Ronka (2), Curtis Caswell (2), and Matt Surridge, with assists by Ken Campbell (2), Cayle Anderson (2), and Dylan Cremona.
Next, they played the Saugeen Shores Storm, at home once again, on Jan. 30, and managed to defeat them, even with a shortage of players. The game remained scoreless for the first period, but in the second period the Huskies came alive. First, Mitch Elvidge scored, assisted by Surridge and Jason Paylor. Then, Chris Giles scored with assists by Caswell and Paylor. After that, Paylor scored with assists going to Elvidge and Giles, giving the Huskies a 3-0 lead. In the third period, the Storm scored their only goal of the game and Elvidge scored another for the Huskies, assisted by Giles and Paylor, to give the Huskies the 4-1 win. The three stars of this game were Elvidge, Jason Paylor, and goalie Justin Paylor.
Finally, the Huskies travelled to Hanover to face the Hanover Falcons, on Jan. 31, in their most ridiculous (there really is no other word for it) game of the season. The Huskies were defeated 10-3, and had only six players plus a goalie by the end of the game. Goals were scored by J.J. Mallozzi, unassisted, Cremona, assisted by Kyle Green, and Green, assisted by Elvidge.
