Midget LL Huskies Participate in Home Tournament
The Midget LL Huskies competed in their first tournament of the season on Dec. 6, at the Durham arena, and came close to winning the consolation championship, but they couldn't quite manage it.
The tournament got off to a rather slow start for the Huskies, who were defeated by Arran-Elderslie 5-0, which put them onto the consolation side of the tournament.
Next, the Huskies faced the Chatsworth Rebels to determine who would play for the consolation championship, and the Huskies got the 5-4 win. The goal-scorers for the Huskies were Dylan Cremona (2), Curtis Caswell, and Matt Surridge (2) with assists by Kyle Green (3), Chris Giles (2), Caswell (2), and Ken Campbell.
Finally, the Huskies went up against Norwich for the consolation championship, and although the Huskies started the scoring, Norwich put up a hard fight to be the consolation champs and defeated the Huskies 4-2 in the end. Both of the Huskies goals were scored by Green with assists by Caswell and Surridge. Nice try boys.
