Sunday the 7th was a cold day, the same as the shoulder given to the local peewee Huskies by their guests from Drayton.
The contest started as the two previuos encounters, with both sides playing conservatively, waiting for the other to make an error. The opening frame ended in a 1 all draw. The second stanza had Drayton capitalize on a couple of opportunities for a 2-0 lead at the intermission. Period three had the making of another comeback for the home side, with several great chances to break the ice on the scoresheet, only ot have Drayton fire home a miscue for a 3 goal spread. Down but not out the locals battled hard and finally found the mesh when Ryan Melanson picked up a lose puck in the slot and fired one between the keepers legs. Sam Lawrence and Nate Duguay worked to create the opportunity for the assists. Try as they did the Durham squad fell 3-1. The Durham Peewee Huskies will now prepare for a very busy as they travel to Harriston to take on Minto on Wednesday, Clinton to meet BCH on Saturday are at home on Sunday at 4:15 pm. to take on Hanover and 8:00 pm.Tuesday to play Mildmay.
