Creemore Tournament plus Home game vs Tiverton
Submitted By Todd Stoddart on Monday, December 29, 2008
The Atom Rep's took the next step, making it to the finals in the Creemore tournament but fell short in the final game.  At home Monday night they rebounded and filled the net against Tiverton.

Creemore Tournament
Game #1 vs Creemore Selects

The Huskies traveled to Creemore and entered their third tournament of the season.  Their first game was against a home town Select team of Local League players.  Durham took an early lead just two minutes in, Nic Whiteside from Brady Becker would make it one nothing.  Just thirty seconds later, Noah Johnson would add to the lead, again from Becker and Whiteside.  The first period would end with Durham up a pair while the second period would see no scoring at all.  In the third, Durham took command and notched three more markers while keeping the goose-egg on the board for  young Lucas Ball.  Becker would net two and Austin Hutcheson would get one, assists went to Whiteside (2), Josh Jenkins, Landon Halloway & Larsen Lorenz.  This first game ended 5-0 for the Huskies.
Game #2 vs Oro
This game we knew would be much more difficult for us, Oro had beaten the select team by an 8-1 score so we figured we would be in for a battle.  Officiating aside, the boys battled through adversity and managed to come away with a 3-1 victory.  Hutcheson would make it one zip 39 seconds into the game, unassisted and then Jenkins would make it 2-0 before the period ended.  Becker & Colton Stoddart assisted.  Durham would make it 3-0 when Whiteside scored unassisted.  Oro would get one back but neither team would score another as they both worked at trying to stay out of the penalty box.  A total of 56 minutes plus 3 ejections were dolled out before the game ended in favor of Durham 3-1.
Game #3 vs Shelburne
With two games already under their belt, the Huskies play on the ice did not have the same emotion their mouths did prior to the game.  They were fairly excited before the game but once they got down a couple of goals, they could not find the energy or drive to get back into it.  Shelburne scored twice in the first and twice again in the second and the final ended 4-0 for them.  In the end we ran out of gas but we showed that we can compete and look forward to the Huskies home tournament on Jan 10.
League Game vs Tiverton
This game was a rescheduled one from the snowy Sunday before X-Mas.  Tiverton made the trip down Monday night and the Huskies showed no mercy, rifling thirteen goals into the net.  Leading the onslaught was Whiteside with four goals while Becker notched three of his own.  Stoddart & Jeffrey Aljoe chipped in a couple each while singles went to Brody Medieros and Hutcheson.  Assists went to Landon Halloway & Noah Johnson with four each, Larsen Lorenz, Bryden Ridgeway, Dylan MacDonald, Josh Jenkins & Colton Stoddart with three each, Brady Becker with two and Nic Whiteside with one.  Hopefully any bad habits that may have been picked up during this game are quickly dispelled when we take on Walkerton Friday night, they should do their best to reform us.  See you then.
